Apartment - New York

Combining vintage, new, and plenty of artwork, this family apartment is a very unique space for new york city.

This client is actually the grandson of one of peter’s most sophisticated clients, and really love to incorporate his beloved grandmother’s aesthetic into his family’s home. as a designer this is such a nice treat. getting to combine so many different design aspects and take furniture that they already own and figure out how to best utilize it in a different ways really takes the space from just an apartment to a real family home.

The living room spands a vast majority of the apartment and overlooks central park. It is split into three seating arrangements, allowing for the family to host guests of varying sizes.

Originally just a small hallway leading to the children’s bedrooms, the walls were extended slightly in this space to allow for a small seating arrangement, perfect for the children to do their school work or relax.

my absolute favorite piece of this apartment are the curtains in the master bedroom. designed based off of an antique textile, then hand embroidered in india, each panel is like a work of art.
